Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup sweet Marsala wine
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients by chopping mushrooms and mincing garlic.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt olive oil and butter. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then sear for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown but not fully cooked. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add more butter if needed. Sauté garlic and mushrooms until soft (about 3 minutes).
- Pour in Marsala wine to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits. Add chicken broth and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Return the chicken to the skillet along with any juices. Cover and cook on low heat for another 10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Serve hot, drizzling sauce over the chicken.
