Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 cups apples (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in chilled butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms.
  3. Roll out half the dough into a circle larger than your pie dish; fit it into the dish.
  4. Toss apple slices with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and salt. Fill the crust with the mixture.
  5. Roll out the remaining dough for the top crust; cover or create vent holes.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
