Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt over medium heat until melted. Gradually stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball; remove from heat.
- Allow the dough to cool slightly, then mix in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to about 350°F (175°C). Pipe tree shapes onto parchment paper or directly into hot oil.
- Fry churros for about 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Toss warm churros in cinnamon sugar and drizzle with chocolate sauce or powdered sugar before serving.
