  • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, sliced
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Toss potato slices with melted butter, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl until coated.
  3. Sear the steak in a hot skillet for 3-4 minutes per side until browned; let it rest.
  4. Layer half the potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half the cheese and the steak slices.
  5. Add remaining potatoes and cheese on top, drizzling with extra melted garlic butter.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
