  • 2 slices crusty bread (ciabatta or sourdough)
  • 4 oz thinly sliced ham (honey or smoked)
  • 2 oz Swiss cheese (freshly sliced)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp butter (softened)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread Dijon mustard on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Layer the ham and Swiss cheese on top of the mustard side of one slice.
  4. Place the second slice on top, mustard side down, to form the sandwich.
  5. Generously butter the outside of both slices.
  6. Grill the sandwich for 4-5 minutes until golden brown, flipping halfway through if using a skillet.
  7. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then slice diagonally and serve warm.
