  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, along with vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared dish. Swirl in additional cinnamon sugar if desired before topping with the remaining batter.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
