  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (divided)
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté chopped onions in olive oil over medium heat until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onions, breadcrumbs, eggs, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. For the topping, mix remaining ketchup with brown sugar and spread over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
