  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 can (14 oz) whole or crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper until combined; avoid overmixing.
  3. Shape mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat; add canned tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for about five minutes.
  6. Carefully add baked meatballs to the sauce and simmer together for another five minutes before serving.
