With a delightful aroma wafting through your kitchen, you’ll find it hard to resist these sweet bites of joy. Top them with crushed candy canes or a drizzle of chocolate for the ultimate indulgence that will impress everyone at your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (Dutch-processed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet and mint)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in granulated and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Let the mixture cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, stirring until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Fold this dry mixture into the butter-sugar mix until just combined.
  5. Stir in peppermint extract and chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean but moist.
