  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup milk (warm)
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • Pinch of salt
  • For the Cream Cheese Glaze:
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add pumpkin puree and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Combine with dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about five minutes until smooth.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area until doubled (about one hour).
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll tightly and cut into equal pieces; place in a greased baking dish and let rise again while preheating the oven to 350°F.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Drizzle with cream cheese glaze before serving.
