- ¼ cup olive oil or melted butter
Instructions
- Activate your sourdough starter by mixing it with lukewarm water in a large bowl. Let it sit for about 30 minutes until bubbly.
- In another bowl, combine pumpkin puree, brown sugar, olive oil, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk until smooth.
- Gradually add flour and salt to the pumpkin mixture until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot for about two hours until doubled in size.
- Deflate the dough gently, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise for another hour.
