  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  5. For the cheesecake layer, beat cream cheese until smooth; add sugar and egg until fully blended. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour half of the red velvet batter into the dish, layer with cheesecake mixture, then top with remaining batter. Swirl gently with a knife.
