  • 4 turkey legs (about 3 lbs)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry turkey legs.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté sliced onions in olive oil until soft (about 5 minutes). Add minced garlic for one more minute.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together chicken broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer sautéed onions at the bottom of the slow cooker and place turkey legs on top. Pour sauce over the legs.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
