- 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp bourbon
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onion and garlic until soft and fragrant (about 5 minutes).
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, bourbon, smoked paprika, sautéed onion and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.
- Mix gently with your hands until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Transfer the mixture into the greased loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
